About
This is the blog of a single woman in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Turning 40 made me realize it was time to get my sh*t together. A pandemic's worth of self-help books, podcasts, and self-reflection has given me some insight into where I have been and where I hope to go. Because you may not have the time, energy, or patience to dive deep on your own, I am offering to take you along for the ride. I promise only rambling thoughts, but maybe we will learn something anyway.
Why "Carts In The Wild"?
I am a shopping cart...
ordinary
familiar
common
recognizable
But also, I am
useful
helpful
necessary
Sometimes I run smoothly, sometimes I have a wonky wheel. Sometimes I am full to the brim, sometimes I am empty.
A cart out of place, a cart left in the wild, may one day appear
lonely
abandoned
forgotten
But on another day, that same cart may appear
adventurous
curious
special
unique
It is ok to be ordinary, it is ok to stand out only occasionally--because common things are still important, needed, sought after.
Even if we are special only briefly, or only to one person, we are still special.
